PS Gopakumar, the state president of the National Teachers’ Council, has alleged that the use of red letters in the question papers given to children in the higher secondary examination held on Friday is a sign of communism in the education department.
For ages, question papers for public examinations have been printed in black ink, but the sudden shift to red letters in the question papers for the Higher Secondary Second Language subjects Hindi, Malayalam, and Sanskrit has raised eyebrows.
Gopakumar has stated that the change in the color of the question paper is surprising for both teachers and students, who were used to seeing question papers printed in black ink. According to him, the use of black ink is more convenient for children to read and understand the questions. He also pointed out that it is well-known that black letters on white are good for the eyes to read effortlessly.
The state president of the National Teachers’ Council has also accused the education department of attempting to declare support for the chief minister’s antipathy to blackness. He said that communists should be better than this and that it should be understood that communism has terribly gripped the public education sector of Kerala.
He also added that it cannot be assumed that officials are the only ones behind this move and that one should even suspect an attempt to Islamize the education sector by replacing the blackboards in the classroom with green boards in the past.
