Former Health Minister KK Shailaja said that it was unacceptable to insist on school-like practices such as covering the whole face.
Islam only says to cover one’s head, but it is not correct to insist that children should sit in class with their faces covered. It is an extremism and we should avoid the same’, said KK Shailaja.
It is unacceptable to insist on things that are unprecedented in our country. We cannot allow ourselves to go into a radical attitude that is seen somewhere in a way that destroys Kerala culture.
We do not have to accept any extreme attitude. “They need to understand that when it comes to school we need to follow uniforms,” she added.
