In the light of the book written by controversial IAS officer M Sivasankar, the investigation agencies may approach the Centre by pointing out that the CM’s former principal secretary Sivasankar has violated the rules of the All India Services.
As per reports, the officials have carried out discussions with legal experts. As Sivasankar’s book attempts to defame the investigation agencies, the legal experts have inferred that the publication of the book breaches the service rules.
The Centre had entrusted the probe of the gold smuggling case with the central investigation agencies. Hence, the allegations against the agencies will be considered as the criticism of Centre itself. As per the rules of All India Services, an officer shall not criticise the state or central governments during the service period.
Accusing statements through radio, media, published books or documents will be considered as against the law. Even if the book has been written in the original name or any other pseudonym, it will account for the infringement of service rules.
An original and translated copy of Sivasankar’s book may allegedly be sent to the concerned departments of the central government soon. If the Union government considers the accusations of Sivasankar as grave, it would appoint an investigation commission to conduct a further probe.
