The Govt. Medical College here has been witnessing the agony of 42 people including women who are left abandoned here. According to the official data, some of them are waiting for their relatives for the past 8 months after completing the treatment.
Because of this, the medical college is struggling to accommodate more patients due to non-availability of beds. If the people who recovered health from critical condition are discharged, other patients will get bed in the ward. At present, the hospital authority has been struggling to find cot for patients who had undergone surgery.
It is learnt that relatives have abandoned some of these patients at the hospital. Most of them were taken to the hospital through 108 ambulance.
The hospital authority claimed that they already completed the treatment procedures for these patients. Usually, the hospital will discharge the patients who recover health after treatment. But these 42 people have been complaining that they don’t have any place to seek shelter.
A bedridden 30-year-old man, a paralysed man in his 70’s and a handicapped Tamil Nadu native are among these 49 people who are continuing in the hospital without any hope to return home.
