Telangana State is set to make history with the upcoming inauguration of the world’s first 3D-printed temple. This groundbreaking project, a collaboration between Hyderabad-based construction company Apsuja Infratech and Simpliforge Creations, will position India as a global pioneer in 3D printed architecture.
Nestled within the picturesque Charvitha Meadows in the Siddipet district, the 3D-printed temple represents the perfect blend of technology, culture, and sustainable creativity. With a sprawling area of 3,800 square feet and towering at approximately 30 feet, this three-part structure showcases the remarkable potential of 3D printing.
Constructed using indigenously developed materials and software, the temple features three sanctums, or ‘garbhas,’ each dedicated to a specific deity. One sanctum pays homage to Lord Ganesha with a Modak-shaped design, another is devoted to Lord Shankar in a Shivalay, and the third is a lotus-shaped abode for Goddess Parvati.
Hari Krishna Jeedipalli, Managing Director of Apsuja Infratech, highlighted the challenges faced during the construction process. “Completely printed on-site, the temple’s dome-shaped structures, including the Modak and the Lotus, presented formidable challenges,” he said. “We employed unique design techniques, meticulous analysis, and innovative construction methods, all the while following the principles of Temple architecture.”
The project is currently in its second phase, with the construction of the Lotus and gopurams underway. Following the successful completion of India’s first 3D-printed bridge prototype at Charvitha Meadows, this temple once again pushes the boundaries of what is possible in the state.
Beyond showcasing the immense potential of 3D printed construction, this landmark structure also demonstrates the architectural freedom and capabilities of the robotic arm system developed by the Simpliforge team.
