The cause of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s death remains a mystery even after so many years. Additionally, the investigation into his death was unable to reach a conclusion.
According to government records, Subhas Chandra Bose died in a plane crash on August 18, 1945. On its way to Manchuria, the plane carrying Subhash Chandra Bose is said to have vanished. His plane’s disappearance sparked numerous inquiries, including whether it had crashed.
A Japanese news organization reported on August 23, the same year, that Subhas Chandra Bose’s plane had crashed in Taiwan, killing him.
If a country’s institution made such a statement, this accident might have been accepted as true. However, just a few days later, the Japanese government confirmed that there was no plane accident in Taiwan on that day.
Despite the absence of a plane crash, this statement raised the question of where Netaji went.
Because Jawaharlal Nehru was said to have spied on Bose’s family at the time, the cause of Subhas Chandra Bose’s death is also a mystery. In April 2015, two IB files on the subject were made public, which sparked controversy.
These documents claim that the IB monitored Netaji’s family for nearly two decades in independent India. Many writers believe that Nehru was also suspicious of the death of Subhas Chandra Bose and used to check the letters from the Bose family so that if Netaji ever got in touch with the family, it would be known.
Subhash’s death was later made public by the government, but there was no strong evidence to back up the claim that he died in the plane crash.
Although there is no evidence to the contrary, Netaji’s supporters maintain that he was alive when the country gained its independence. It is still unknown whether Subhash Chandra Bose perished in a plane crash in 1945. If so, was it an accident or a homicide?
If not, where did Netaji go, and why should the rest of the world not know about him?
