The Kerala High Court has given an ultimatum to the state-owned KSRTC to pay the salary or close down the corporation. Meantime, the KSRTC management informed the court that they would pay the salary by Wednesday.
The management also said that if the company is closed, it will affect 26 lakh passengers. However, the court replied that the passengers will find another way if the company is closed.
KSRTC employees have not received their salaries even on the 10th of the month. The chief minister had assured to pay salary by the 5th of every month. The finance department had sanctioned 30 crores in budget month.
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Antony Raju informed that the government’s help to KSRTC will continue. The minister said the government has not yet informed the high court that it will not help KSRTC, and that would be the stand of any official.
