A 16-year-old girl who went missing from West Bengal has been found at Malappuram. The girl is reportedly one-month pregnant and was found with Nasarudhin(34), a native of West Bengal itself. The police have taken Nassarudhin into custody.
The parents of the girls had filed a complaint with West Bengal police after the girl was found missing. The girl was spotted in an investigation carried out by Childline and Vazhakkad police after receiving information from the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights. Childline activists and police officials found the girl and her male counterpart from a rented quarters here. A three-year-old kid was also found with the duo and it is learnt that the child is of Nasarudhin’s first wife.
According to the neighbours of Nasarudhin, he along with the three-year-old boy went to West Bengal after his first wife parted from him. He returned here with his son and the minor girl who supposedly married him, they said.
Meanwhile, the police are investigating the matter in detail. The police have taken Nasarudhin into custody for alleged abduction, sexual assault and impregnation of the minor girl. While the girl and the child have been shifted to a shelter home after producing them before Child Welfare Committee.
