On the appointment of personal staff, the Kerala governor Arif Mohammed Khan has asked the state government to ‘mind its business. Commenting over the state government’s stance on the appointment of his personal staff, Khan said that the government do not need to intervene in this matter. He was talking to media.
However, the government gave a nod to Khan’s recommendation to appoint BJP leader Hari S Kartha as his additional personal assistant the other day. But the government expressed its dissatisfaction over setting a new practice of recruiting active politicians to the governor’s staff.
The appointment was approved because the Governor had shown keen interest in the matter, said KR Jyotilal, the Principal Secretary. Khan not only commented about the matter pertaining to the appointment of his personal staff but also attacked the state government over giving pensions to personal staff who completes two years and one day in service.
He pointed out that such employees will quit the position after two years and join the political party. This kind of personal staff appointment is shameful and the state government is not supposed to give pensions to such individuals, he said.
