In a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the violence unleashed by BJP in Tripura against the opposition forced CPM to align with Congress. He was reacting to the ‘kushti-dosti’ comment of PM Modi on the opposition alliance in Tripura.
Speaking at the inauguration of the area committee office of CPM in Kottayam, Pinarayi said, “I hope Modi’s memory is just fine. The CPM has come a long way in Tripura. We faced the atrocities of the Congress when they were in power at the centre. They tried their best to get rid of CPM. But we survived that. BJP’s actions are forcing us to join hands with Congress now.”
Kerala CM said the prime minister’s words tell that he is supporting the violence of BJP in Tripura. A prime minister should not support such anti-democratic activities in a state. People have realised that another chance for the BJP will devastate the country,” he added.
