Kerala CPM Ministers notorious for their foolish statements on various issues have come up with a new reason for the pathetic condition of some roads in the state. According to CM Vijayan’s son-in-law and minister of Public Works Department PA Mohamed Riyas, many factors, including the climatic conditions, are responsible for the deplorable condition of many roads in Kerala.
He informed that the department is preparing new projects to improve the standard of roads and a considerable number of roads have already been developed in the state. The Minister informed the Legislative Assembly that he is attempting to bring out a combined effort of various departments for this.
He asserted that the government aims to eliminate the menace of potholes on the roads and added that other departments are cooperating on this in each district. Fifty per cent of the roads in Kerala will be built using Bituminous Macadam Bituminous Concrete (BMBC) within the next four years.
