The Kerala motor vehicle department has fined a youth for driving a car without wearing a helmet. Ajit Kumar, a resident of Venjarammood in the capital city received a notice demanding a fine of Rs 500. The young man, who works at a nearby cement shop, was shocked to receive a strange fine notice.
The notice was sent to the registration number of the car by the Department of Motor Vehicles. The notice also states that it is a car. The motor vehicle department then asked the young man to pay a fine for not wearing a helmet.
The registration number, name and address of the vehicle in the notice are all Ajith’s. However, the picture attached with the notice is of a two-wheeler.
Ajit Kumar says he only has one car. The car number is KL21D9877. He works in a nearby cement shop. Ajith is preparing to lodge a complaint with the motor vehicle department.
