Dialysis equipment worth Rs 35 lakh sent by MP Rahul Gandhi to Malappuram Vandoor Taluk Hospital was sent back mentioning that there is no space in the hospital to keep it. However, when the incident became controversial, they were called back.
According to reports, the medical officer returned the equipment citing a lack of space. But the hospital management committee came to know about this and demanded the return of the goods sent. The hospital management committee said that an inquiry would be conducted against the medical officer and the staff.
Three members of HMCI have been assigned to conduct an investigation into the incident. Then a report will be given to the governing body. The decision taken in the HMC meeting was that it was wrong to return the equipment on the grounds that there was a space limitation.
