In a significant verdict, the Kerala high court today gave permission to lesbian girls to live together. The court order was issued on a habeas corpus petition filed by Adila Nasrin, a native of Aluva. The court allowed partner Fatima Noora to accompany Adila.
Adila filed a petition in Kota this morning alleging that her partner Fatima had been abducted by relatives. The court ruled that adults were not barred from living together. Adila had pleaded that they had the right to live together as per the Supreme Court judgment and that the court and the police should stand by them.
Earlier, the couple was staying at Adila’s relative’s house in Aluva. From here, Fatima was abducted by her parents and relatives. It was after this that Adila approached the court.
