Karnataka’s Education Minister, Madhu Bangarappa, revealed on Saturday that the state government will be undertaking a comprehensive revision of textbooks. The announcement came as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fulfilling the educational needs of children, emphasizing their manifesto’s promise to revise textbooks.
Speaking at a press conference, Minister Bangarappa stated, “The revised textbooks have already been distributed to schools, and we have taken all the necessary measures to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted process. We have a legal framework in place to safeguard against any disruptions. I had a productive discussion with renowned scholar Baraguru Ramachandrappa, and I want to emphasize that this entire textbook revision initiative is being carried out under the guidance of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.”
Addressing the ongoing teacher recruitment process, Minister Bangarappa acknowledged receiving information regarding its progress and expressed optimism about the overall atmosphere surrounding it. He acknowledged the need for administrative improvements but expressed confidence in the capabilities of the state’s officers, teachers, and students. Bangarappa called upon parents and all stakeholders to join the government’s collective efforts to address and resolve any existing issues.
