DK Shivakumar, the President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), voiced his aspirations to become the Chief Minister of the state, despite being appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister by his party’s high command. Shivakumar made these remarks during his first visit to Kanakpura after emerging victorious in the recent elections.
Addressing his supporters, Shivakumar acknowledged that his loyal followers had cast their votes with the intention of electing him as the Chief Minister. However, he expressed his respect for the decisions made by Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, the leaders of the Indian National Congress. He remained optimistic about the future, stating, “In the coming days, something good will happen, and I’ll definitely become the CM of the state.”
Reflecting on his political journey, Shivakumar highlighted that he had entered politics at a young age and emphasized his strong bond with the people of Kanakpura. He assured them that, irrespective of any position he holds, he will always remain their son. He outlined his vision for Kanakpura, expressing his desire to transform it into a model village. Shivakumar revealed that he had already discussed his plans with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, aiming to establish a medical college in the area.
