Last month, the city had witnessed a security threat during the India-Australia cricket match, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. A pre-recorded message threatening people, in the voice of Khalistani terrorist Gurpawant Singh Pannu, was issued before their arrival.
The busting of the illegal exchange and the arrests of Junaid and Rihanna are being seen as a major breakthrough in the fight against terrorism and anti-national activities. The ATS has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
The Dainik Bhaskar has reported that the ATS has recovered a large number of documents related to the exchange, including records of call logs and financial transactions. The police suspect that the illegal exchange was being used to facilitate communication between anti-national elements and terrorists.
