The family of CPM worker Sajeevan who was involved in the protests against black sand mining has decided to approach the court demanding CBI investigation in his disappearance. Sajeevan, who is a fisherman by profession, had gone missing last September 29.
The police had earlier informed the court that Sajeevan had got trapped when the cove got flooded. This is all part of a political game, alleged the family. Sajeevan, a CPM local leader, went missing amidst a party branch meeting.
The family has two doubts regarding Sajeevan’s disappearance. Either some leaders shifted him somewhere else following the factionalism in CPM or, some lobbies might have kidnapped him for actively participating in the protests against black sand mining.
Sajeevan’s wife had filed a habeas corpus. The Ambalapuzha police had informed the high court that Sajeevan who came back after fishing, got trapped in the waves, while trying to swim back home.
