A heated clash ensued between a DMK minister and a Muslim League MP in Ramanathapuram, leading to a tense situation during an award ceremony for the winners of a sports meet. The district collector, who attempted to mediate, was reportedly pushed down during the incident.
The altercation began when DMK Minister Rajakannapan insisted on starting the award ceremony before the arrival of MP Nawaz Khani, which sparked off a series of altercations and physical confrontations. The program was scheduled to commence at 3 pm on Saturday. However, it began earlier than the designated time when the minister and the district collector arrived at the venue. This unexpected sequence of events enraged the MP.
In response to the incident, MP Nawaz Khani filed a complaint against District Collector Vishnu Chandra with the Chief Secretary. Additionally, a case was registered against the individual who allegedly pushed the collector.
This is the general public discourse of the DMK alliance behind the screens. DMK Minister Thiru Raja Kanappan & IUML MP Thiru Navas Kani are in a public brawl.
Unfortunately, the District collector trying to douse the fire was pushed down. Everything about the DMK regime is… pic.twitter.com/0NelKeWm81

“The act of pushing away the district collector, who intervened to defuse the argument between the DMK minister and the Muslim League MP in a public space, is undemocratic in every way under the DMK rule,” BJP President K. Annamalai tweeted.
