A beautifully written post on the recently released Malikappuram movie that says a story connected to Sabarimala Lord Ayyappan, shared on Facebook by Congress leader Bindu Krishna was deleted within a few minutes from Facebook. However, the same post appeared again after the incident went viral.
The leader first shared a heart-wrenching note through social media sharing her experience of watching Malikappuram movie. The note mentioned the reason for the delay in watching the movie and the performance of the characters in the movie. The note ended with the words that one day she would meet Lord Ayyappa. But after a few minutes, the post disappeared. The matter became a discussion on social media too.
The main question raised in social media was who she was afraid of. Many people came up mocking and criticizing the leader. However, while the discussions were going on, Bindu Krishna has come up with an old post. They are reposting the post which was withdrawn once. Same lines, same words.
The fact Hindu Congress leaders in Kerala are afraid of discussing even Hindu icons in the state. Maybe she is afraid that while the Sabarimala is deeply associated with strong Hindu emotions and also with Hindu outfits in the state, any post praising the same would stamp her as a supporter of Hindutva or maybe a fear that she would lose votes due to the increasing majority of Muslims in the state – whatever the reasons are, this shows the pathetic plight of Congress leaders from Hindu families in the state,
It was a discussion earlier that another leader Raj Mohan Unnithan who contested in the election in Kasaragod, another stronghold of Muslims in the state, removed the black tilak that has been his identity throughout the past years. There was criticism that it was to appease the Muslim population who called him later as ‘Unnicha’ (Icha, a word used to denote Muslims in the state).
