A peaceful protest organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at SN College took a violent turn when members of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) launched an unprovoked attack on ABVP activists. The incident unfolded during a march to raise concerns about alleged fake certificates, highlighting the prevailing tensions between the two student organizations.
During the protest, Kalyani Chandran, the ABVP state joint secretary, along with several other female activists, fell victim to physical assault at the hands of SFI members. Additionally, Hari Krishanan, an ABVP state committee member, was also targeted in the attack. The shocking acts of violence were captured on video, which rapidly spread across various social media platforms, drawing widespread condemnation.
The ABVP activists had gathered at SN College as part of the ABVP’s statewide education bandh, seeking justice and the arrest of an SFI leader implicated in the issuance of fake certificates and other illicit activities. However, what started as a peaceful demonstration quickly turned into a clash of ideologies, resulting in ABVP members being subjected to physical assaults by SFI members.
The circulating video footage serves as evidence of the brutal assault, capturing the SFI members physically attacking and verbally abusing ABVP activists within the premises of SN College.
