The Tamil Nadu man who stabbed a 16-year-old girl 14 times after refusing a love proposal has been found dead on a railway track here.
Keshavan, a 22-year-old resident of Pothamedu who fled after stabbing the girl, was found dead on the railway track near Manappara.
The accused was identified through a mobile phone found near the body. The body was identified by his father.
Keshavan stabbed and injured an 11th-class student from Athikulam in Trichy. The girl, who was on her way to a relative’s house after the examination, was repeatedly stabbed by the accused on a railway overbridge.
He stopped the girl on the bridge and proposed to her. But the girl refused. Following this, he stabbed the girl, left the knife at the scene and fled.
The girl was rescued by passersby on the bridge and rushed to a nearby hospital. She is said to be in critical condition.
In June 2021, he abducted the same girl. The girl’s relatives said Keshavan was arrested by the police in the case and later jailed on POCSO charges. He was recently released from jail.
