An ancient Vishnu temple in the Pathanamthitta district in Kerala has collapsed because of the pure negligence of Devaswom board. Surprisingly, the temple is located a few kilometres from the Devaswom Board President, however, despite requests from the locals, no action has been taken to renovate the temple.
The collapse of the Sanctum Sanctorum of the temple started half a century ago. The idol of the deity has been removed by the miscreants. For years, there is no idol or priest in the temple. It has been half a century since the shrine began to fall. There are now three large trees growing here. Devotees occasionally come up there to light a lamp.
The locals had repeatedly brought the plight of the temple to the Devaswom Board, however, there were no actions. A school building with 10 rooms that was constructed on the temple property with an expense of over Rs 60 lakh, is on the verge of destruction.
