In yet another shocking news from Karnataka, a school in Mangaluru has found arranging prayer hall for Muslim students to do namaz within the school building. In this regard, the Karnataka Education Department has taken action against the school, reports Asianet news.
As per the school authorities, they have been providing the facility for years and they argue that classes were not disrupted because of this. However, the incident has attracted stringent criticism from various corners especially because it is a government school.
Prior to any actions, an explanation was sought from the school principal. The notice was sent by the Karnataka Education Department to the Kadaba Government School in Mangalore. But the school management explained that the vacant class was facilitated for Friday prayers.
The education department said that the prayer facility was set up without the permission of the district education department and that it was an unnecessary move.
