More people, including executives and dealers, have been arrested in a case of cheating underage students and engaging in prostitution. Eight people, including SDPI activist Mohammad Sharif, a native of Kasargod Manjeswaram, have been arrested. They are a group of men who threaten college students and women and send them into prostitution.
The activities involving an SDPI activist were based in SMR Liana apartment in Attawar Nandiguda. The gang used to cheat and intimidate underage girls into prostitution. They were caught following complaints from a student who escaped from the group.
Shamima, the mastermind of the racket, her husband Siddique and accomplice Aishamma were the first to be arrested. Later, SDPI activist Mohammad Sharif and his gang were arrested. The girls were lured into the gang by giving them money and gifts. The main method of the gang was to intimidate the girls by showing them private scenes with a camera in the bedroom and forcing them to give in again.
Police are investigating five cases. Four of these cases are pox. Police also rescued two girls during a search of SMR Liana’s apartment.
