In Kerala, a policeman has been dismissed from service for leaking official information collected by the police to SDPI workers. Idukki SP issued an order in this regard the other day following the finding that Anaz PK of the Karimannoor station in Idukki had leaked information about RSS workers to SDPI workers.
Police had collected information on the RSS workers as part of preventive measures. Later, an SDPI worker, who was arrested in another case, revealed that Anaz had leaked the information of the RSS workers from the police database. Following this, the Thodupuzha DySP conducted an investigation and found Anaz guilty.
Anaz was suspended based on this report. Later, a departmental-level inquiry was conducted by narcotic cell DySP A G Lal. He too found that Anaz had leaked official information to the SDPI. The investigation team also collected digital evidence of information leaks.
Following this, Anaz was issued a show-cause notice. Although he had given a reply, the authorities decided to dismiss him from service.
