Muslim organizations screened a BBC documentary defaming the country and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad Central University. The exhibition was held by Muslim organizations without permission. ABVP filed a complaint after the incident.

According to ABVP’s complaint, the document was screened in the campus by the Student Islamic Organization, Muslim Student Federation (MSF) and Jamaatiya Islamia. ABVP student leader Mahesh stated that the documentary was screened on the campus without the permission of the university or the college authorities and a complaint has been lodged with the university authorities about the incident.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju had earlier come out against the politicization of the BBC documentary. Rijiju had accused some people of still not emancipating themselves from colonial slavery and thinking that the BBC is above the integrity of the country and the Supreme Court. BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya had also criticized the opposition and Congress for many years for politicizing the Gujarat riots. He added that the colonial perspective of the BBC was clear
