The enforcement RTOs of the Motor Vehicles Department have been told to go for stringent actions such as cancellation of license for even smaller violations of the drivers like not wearing a helmet while riding two-wheelers.
The direction comes at a time when the state is witnessing an increase in road accidents. Besides, the monsoon will make the riding worse, the department fears. Letting go small violations will have bigger prizes to pay, they think.
Two pillion riders on motorbikes, not wearing helmet, overspeeding, violating red signal, use of mobile phone while driving, drunk and drive, not stopping for inspection will lead to cancellation of license.
