The government has hiked the fee for vehicle emission tests and reduced the validity of certificates issued for two-wheelers and three-wheelers with BS4 engines to six months. Other BS4 vehicles, including diesel autorickshaws, will get emission certificates with one-year validity.
As per the revised rate, Rs 100 will be charged for the emission test of two-wheelers with BS6 engine. The test fee of Rs 80 will continue for other vehicles. Petrol and CNG autorickshaws will be charged Rs 110 for the test. There will be no change in test fees for vehicles with BS3 engine.
A test fee of Rs 130 will be charged for diesel autorickshaws (BS4 and BS6) and Rs 110 for diesel cars (up to BS3). The certificate validity for these vehicles will be six months. While other vehicles will get a certificate valid for one year after undergoing the test for Rs 130.
Medium and heavy vehicles have to pay Rs 180 for the test to obtain a certificate valid for one year.
All BS6 vehicles will get an emission certificate with one-year validity.
Meanwhile, the validity of the calibration certificate for testing centres has been extended to six months.
