The Kerala High Court here on Wednesday has stayed the anticipatory bail granted to Civic Chandran in the second sexual harassment case against him. The court’s intervention was based on the appeal filed by the survivor. The court also ordered for protection of Chandran from arrest, until the case is taken up on Monday.
The survivor in the appeal pointed out that the bail order had legal fallacies. The order has misogynistic remarks and findings antithetical to Supreme Court’s directions, the survivor contended. The court’s move is in this regard.
Meanwhile, the Kerala High Court on the other day issued a transfer order to four district court judges, including Kozhikode district judge S Krishnakumar, who made the controversial remark while granting bail to writer Civic Chandran in the sexual assault case.
