Following the incident in which Kerala Fore Force officials gave training to Popular Front activists, Fire force chief B Sandhya has found that there was a serious lapse on the part of the firefighters. The fire force chief has submitted a report on the incident to the Home Secretary. An action may be initiated against the fire force officials who gave training to Popular Front activists.
The incident took place at the state level inauguration of the newly formed Rescue and Relief Organization of the Popular Front. During the event held in Aluva on Wednesday, the officials taught various methods of rescuing a person in distress and how to use the equipment.
BJP leaders and others had alleged that training for the Popular Front was illegal. Following the controversy, fire force chief B Sandhya had ordered an investigation. Action will be taken against the Ernakulam Regional Fire Officer, the District Fire Officer and the three officers who took the class.
Officials have been asked to explain the circumstances under which the training was provided. Action will be taken only after receiving the explanation. Meanwhile, some officials said there was no violation of law in the incident.
