Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced a “compensation” cheque of Rs 25 lakh and announced job opportunities for the families of six individuals who lost their lives in communal incidents since 2018.
The Chief Minister expressed his commitment to ensuring that such “unnatural deaths” are prevented in the state in the future. During his announcement, Siddaramaiah provided details of the victims involved in these tragic incidents.
According to the Chief Minister, the victims were identified as Masood from Dakshina Kannada district, who lost his life on July 19, 2022; Mohammed Fazil from Dakshina Kannada, who was killed on July 28, 2022; Abdul Jalil from Dakshina Kannada, who met a tragic end on December 24, 2022; Idrish Pasha from Mandya, who lost his life on March 31, 2023; and Shamir from Gadag, who was killed on January 17, 2022. These incidents occurred in different locations across the state.
Recently the government had denied job to the slain Hindu activist Praveen Natteru’s wife, however she was reinstated in her temporary state government job on ‘humanitarian grounds’ following criticism.
