The IndiGo airlines today banned CPM central committee member EP Jayarajan and two Youth Congress workers, who staged a protest against chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan inside a flight, from using the service of the airlines.
The ban is up to three weeks for Jayarajan from travelling on international as well as domestic flights of IndiGo. The Congress workers were slapped a ban of 2 weeks.
However, Jayarajan said that he hasn’t received any information on the ban.
The incident happened on June 13, three Youth Congress workers boarded the IndiGo 6E flight from Kannur to Thiruvananthapuram.
When the flight landed, they raised slogans against chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan who was on board demanding his resignation over the allegations raised by gold smuggling accused Swapna Suresh.
Two of the protestors were soon taken to police custody and later remanded by a local court. They are charged with attempt to murder and several other sections of IPC and aviation laws.
