In a shocking incident, a girl studying in 8th standard committed suicide allegedly after her teacher demanded Rs 25000 fine for making the desk and wall dirty with ink. The incident happened in a school in the name of communist leader AK Gopalan. The deceased is identified as Riya Praveen.
According to her classmate, the teacher scolded her because the ink was on the desk and the wall and demanded Rs 25,000 as a fine. She further said that Riya’s student police cadet membership was cancelled and she went home crying. The police have informed that the statement of the teacher named in Riya’s suicide note will be recorded today.
Last day at noon, the teacher scolded Rhea Praveen, a class 8 student of Peralassery AKG Memorial Higher Secondary School. The reason was that the ink from the pen was smeared on the desk and the passage. The teacher didn’t stop even after telling the teacher that it happened by mistake. The girl was stressed when the teacher told him that she would be admitted to the class only if the parents were called.
After coming home in the evening, the 8th-grade girl committed suicide by hanging a shawl on the bedroom window with the names of her teacher and classmate written on it. Further investigations are on.
