In a shocking incident, a group of CPIM goons unleashed violence in front of a court in Kerala’s Idukki. The incident happened when a ‘missing’ student was brought before the court. The conflict was led by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) and a case was registered against 14 people, including district leaders and CPM area secretaries.
The missing student, the daughter of a CPIM activist, was a graduate of Purapuzha Shantigiri College and a native of Malappuram. She fell in love with a young employee she met through social media. The CPM filed a missing person’s report after the girl was gone for four days.
The police tracked her phone to Malappuram and found her there. The court directed her to stay in a shelter home. When she appeared in court again on Wednesday, she told the court she wanted to go with her boyfriend and permission was granted. However, her father and friends were upset when she left the court with her boyfriend following which CPIM goons surrounded the couple outside the court.
The girl’s father is a district office employee and two CPM area secretaries and area committee members from Thodupuzha region are accused in the case. Approximately 100 police officers from various stations were also present, led by Thodupuzha’s Deputy Superintendent of Police.
