Assam police have arrested a most wanted criminal who is convicted in a number of cases from Malappuram. The government had offered 5 lakhs as a reward for catching this criminal.
Azmat Ali, a native of Sonitpur, and his accomplice Ameer Kusmu were arrested by the Nilambur police. They were living there as migrant labourers.
He is accused of poaching an endangered one-horned rhinoceros. He came to Kerala when the police investigation was intensifying there. He then stayed with migrant workers.
Assam police received the information that he is in Kerala tracing his phone. They then informed the Kerala Police and took him into custody.
