Renowned music maestro AR Rahman’s daughter, Khatija Rahman, is all set to make her mark as a composer with the upcoming Tamil film “MinMini.”
Directed by Halitha Shameem, the movie stars Esther Anil, Gaurav Kalai, and Pravin Kishore in lead roles. Excitement surrounds Khatija’s debut as a composer, and Halitha recently shared a photograph with Khatija taken at AM Studios, owned by her Oscar-winning father.
Expressing her joy, Halitha wrote, “So happy to be working with this exceptional talent, Khatija Rahman for #MinMini. The euphonious singer is a brilliant music composer too. Some great music is underway!”
Grateful for the opportunity, Khatija thanked the filmmaker for her kindness, trust, and support. She took to Twitter to express her gratitude, saying, “Thank you so much for having me on board for ‘MinMini’ and for your kindness and trust and support. It’s been a journey growing with the film and working with you.”
Khatija, the eldest daughter of AR Rahman and Saira Banu, has already showcased her vocal prowess in the past. She made her singing debut with the song “Puthiya Manidha” from superstar Rajinikanth’s blockbuster film “Enthiran” in 2010. In Hindi, she mesmerized audiences with her rendition of “Rock a Bye Baby” from the 2021 film “Mimi,” starring Kriti Sanon. Her latest song, “Chinnanjiru Nilave,” features in Mani Ratnam’s blockbuster epic “Ponniyin Selvan: 2.”
Halitha Shameem, known for her directorial contributions to the Tamil anthology series “Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadhaa,” is highly regarded in the industry. Her previous project, “Loners,” garnered acclaim and further cemented her position as a talented filmmaker.
With Khatija Rahman’s musical expertise and Halitha Shameem’s directorial prowess coming together, expectations are high for “MinMini.” Fans eagerly anticipate the captivating melodies that Khatija will compose for this Tamil film.
