Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and Pallavi Joshi better watch out. Each movie they craft from real life incidents and events are opening the windows of information to the viewers. All the films produced and directed by Vivek Agnihotri belong to a class by themselves and as excellent as that of any movies made in Hollywood. But this statement may not find acceptance in the Left-dominated world of Indian cultural sphere. For them, a movie becomes worth viewing and enjoying only if it contains India-baiting scene and dialogues that are derogatory to the progress made by the country during the decade 2014-23.
In India, especially in Bollywood, films and film stars get celebrity status only if they have the Khan tag as suffix and the movie has an anti-India theme. If you make a movie condemning Narendra Modi and eulogizing the LeT terrorists, you are the Akiro Kurosawa and Andrei Tarkovsky of Indian filmdom. Same is the case with authors and the books they write. If you throw mud at the great Indian epics like the Mahabharat and Ramayan, you are rated as an intellectual!
The Vaccine War, the latest work by Vivek Agnihotri, is a tribute to the medical doctors and scientists of India who toiled hard to control and decimate the Covid pandemic that hit the nation from late 2019. The Covid is the most dangerous and deadly mishap to hit the world in the modern era. Vivek Agnihotri has come out with a work which begins in a sedate note and reach the peak as he unfurls the script, scene by scene and shot by shot. An exclusive show held by the movie makers Vivek and Pallavi for the Chennai audience on Friday turned out to be a memorable event as the duo and crew members were given a standing ovation by the crowd consisting of film connoisseurs at the end of the show.
Vivek tells the events that led to the spread of the pandemic across India, the epicenter of which was the Tablighi Jamaat congregation held at New Delhi in Marh 2020. The delegates from foreign countries who had assembled for the same were the carriers of the pandemic. It was no doubt a biological warfare unleashed against India by China. There was no other justification for the presence of Tablighi delegates from Thailand, China and some of the East Asian countries in different parts of Inda at the same time.
The name Wuhan, from where the Chinese authorities released the Covid causing virus had been reported by the Health Ranger, a portal on health issues based in USA. What is perplexing is the kind of campaign launched by the Leftists and the disgruntled Opposition party leaders against the kind of responsibility taken up by the Indian manufacturers of vaccines and scientists of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in countering the modern-day pandemic.
India under Narendra Modi turned out to be the saviors of the rest of the world by developing the vaccine and offering the same to many countries. The gesture of James Marape, the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, touching the feet of Modi as a symbol of gratitude for the help rendered by India during the pandemic spoke volume about India’s help and aid to that country.
The Vaccine War is a tribute to our medical and pharma warriors and the bureaucrats who run the health ministry of the country. Despite the media praising the “great work” being done by the CPI(M) ruled Kerala in taking on the pandemic, the truth is that Kerala remained one of the top States with highest mortality rates. The health minister K K Shailaja, who was praised as the Queen of Pandemic, had to eat humble pie and take back her words about the state of affairs in Kerala. Though the new health minister Veena George had managed to get the services of two Christian doctors to wax eloquence on her, it turned out to be a stage managed show. Ultimately, the silent commandoes led by Narendra Modi won the war for India. And this is what Vivek Agnihotri has picturized, silently. Kudos to this movie maker and his better half, a wonderful artist.
