Amidst Izlamists’ Attack Sara Ali Khan Stands Firm in the Face of Trolling Over Temple Visit

Bollywood actor Sara Ali Khan has responded to the online trolling she faced after her visit to the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, asserting that her beliefs are a personal matter and that she will continue to visit shrines of all faiths without worrying about others’ opinions.

The 27-year-old actress, daughter of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, was subjected to criticism from certain social media users after sharing pictures of her prayer at the iconic temple in Madhya Pradesh. This comes after Sara had previously posted photos from a Lord Shiva temple in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and has often shared images from different places of worship on her Instagram page.

During a press conference for her upcoming film “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke,” Sara was asked about the backlash she received. She responded by saying, “I have said this before and I’ll say it again. I take my work very seriously, and I work for the audience and for you (the media). If you all don’t like my work, I’ll feel bad. But my personal belief is my personal matter. I’ll visit Ajmer Sharif with the same dedication as I’ll visit Bangla Sahib or Mahakal. And I’ll keep visiting. So, whoever wants to say anything about it, they can. I don’t have any problem. But what’s most important is that no matter where you go, you should like its energy. I believe in energy.”

Sara’s co-star in “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke,” Vicky Kaushal, called on the media not to give legitimacy to trolls. He stated, “Questions are asked to those people who are trolled, who are going on with their lives. So, if a troll catches your attention as a big media house, that’s legitimate, and when you talk about them, you give value to whatever they say. You should ask questions to trolls. The process needs to change.” Kaushal also emphasized that while the internet is an open medium, it does not give people the right to say anything.

“Zara Hatke Zara Bachke” is a romantic comedy set in Indore, focusing on the story of a married couple, Kapil and Somya, played by Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan, who are on the verge of divorce. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film is scheduled to release on Friday, creating anticipation among fans.

As Sara Ali Khan remains steadfast in her commitment to her personal beliefs, the conversation surrounding celebrity visits to places of worship continues to highlight the importance of respecting individual choices and embracing diversity.
