As the highly anticipated film Aadipurush, featuring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, gears up for its release, another Ramayana-based project directed by Nitesh Tiwari and Madhu Mandena is currently in progress. However, recent reports have surfaced indicating that Yash was approached for the coveted role of Ravana in the film but decided to decline the offer.
According to sources, Yash initially expressed great enthusiasm for the opportunity, recognizing the challenging nature of portraying the complex character of Ravana, which he believed to be even more demanding than that of Rama. Initially, Ranbir Kapoor had been chosen to play the role of Rama in the film, but Yash’s interest prompted a reconsideration.
However, it is now understood that Yash’s team advised him against accepting the role of Ravana. They held the belief that his devoted fans would not be pleased to see him portraying a negative character, despite the significant acting opportunity it presented. While Yash has never played such a powerful antagonist like Ravana, his team felt it necessary to consider the sentiments of his fanbase.
Yash has previously acknowledged the intensity of his fans’ emotional attachment, mentioning that they tend to react strongly whenever he deviates from their desires. Taking this into account, the actor himself acknowledged the importance of considering his fans’ wishes and emotions.
