Betraying the poor law and order situation in Kerala where even the judiciary is immune from the Marxist onslaught, a judge alleged that the defence lawyer in the tribal youth lynching case has threatened him of dire consequences if cancelled the bail to the accused. The judge of the Mannarcaud SC/ST Special Court reveled this while pronouncing the verdict where he annulled the bail of 12 accused in the case. Liberals who are shedding crocodile tears for Bilkis Bano have turned a blind eye to the plight of the family members of Madhu who are being denied justice in Kerala.
Among the accused are members of local CPI(M) and SDPI units. Recently, the court cancelled the bail after the prosecution claimed that the accused tried to influence the witnesses in the case. Earlier, the witnesses in the murder of the tribal youth in Attapadi turned hostile. Following this, the prosecution produced phone details claiming that the accused had contacted witnesses 63 times during the period. The accused had obtained bail in the case in 2018.
Recently, the Kerala Police arrested a youth, Shifan, for threatening the family of slain mentally unstable tribal youth Madhu who was killed for allegedly stealing food items.
According to the police, Shifan along with a few accused went to the house of Madhu and threatened the victim’s sister Sarasu and mother Malli, asking them to withdraw the cases. Shifan is the grandson of Abbas, the main accused in the lynching case. The police also recovered Rs 36 lakh from the youth.
Madhu’s family had filed a complaint with Agali DySP against Shifan and his accomplices. Shifan was produced before the Mannacaud court. Madhu’s lynching had triggered national outrage. Madhu, a resident of Attappadi, who was starving took some food items from a shop.
