Following the recovery of illegal bullets in Karnataka’s Coor, the police team investigating bullet case in Kerala has decided to extend the probe to Karnataka.
266 bullets from an abandoned field near Thondayad of Kozhikode district a few days ago. The probe team confirmed that the bullets are made in India and abroad.
“The bullets are made in England, Germany and Pune. Bullets of a particular company were five years old. Bullets of the other three companies were over 10-15 years old,” informed the cops.
As the batch number is not available, some letters were examined in the ballistic test. This test confirmed that some of the bullets were manufactured by foreign companies. The probe team has contacted the foreign companies and sought the details of the bullets which sold.
A total of 266 bullets which can be used in a .22 rifle were recovered from an abandoned land near Nellikode here on May 11. The police also recovered evidence of shooting practice on the spot. A plywood sheet used for the practice was also recovered from the spot.
