A shocking poster that read “Kidney, Liver for sale” appeared in front of a house in Manacaud, Thiruvananthapuram, causing a stir among the public. Initially, many people thought it was a prank, but when they dialed the phone numbers provided on the poster, they were found to be genuine.
The man responsible for the poster was identified as Santhosh Kumar, a 50-year-old resident of Manacaud Puthen Road. Kumar said that he had met with an accident while working at a fruit shop and had to undergo treatment, leaving him with no money. He wanted to sell a piece of his family’s land at Manacaud junction, but there was a dispute with his brother over the property.
According to Kumar’s brother, the property was in their mother’s name and was now owned by all six siblings, including Santhosh. The family was going through tough times as Kumar’s wife’s tuition classes had stopped due to the pandemic.
With no other means to support his family, Santhosh claimed that he had no choice but to resort to selling his vital organs.
