The General in charge of North American airspace has refused to rule out any explanation for the recent shoot-downs of unidentified objects, including the possibility of aliens, and has deferred to US intelligence experts for further investigation.
During a Pentagon briefing, the General stated that he has not yet ruled out anything and that the military continues to assess every threat or potential threat to identify it. The recent incidents have caused concern as the military is unable to immediately determine the means of propulsion or where the objects were coming from.
While the US government has been investigating UFO sightings in recent years, officials have said they have not found evidence of Earthly visits from intelligent alien life.
UFO sightings and related incidents have been a subject of interest in the United States for decades. In recent years, the US government has acknowledged and investigated numerous sightings of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs), a term used to describe the phenomena more scientifically.
The Pentagon launched a new initiative to investigate military sightings of UAPs in 2019, and in June 2021, the office released an unclassified report on UAPs that detailed a total of 144 incidents, with many of them being unexplained.
While some have speculated that these sightings may be evidence of extraterrestrial life, the US government has not confirmed or denied the existence of such life. Many sightings have been explained as natural phenomena, weather balloons, or military testing, but the government continues to investigate to determine the true nature of these sightings.
