Nisarga will make landfall as ‘severe cyclonic storm’ close to Alibag, 94 kms south of Mumbai on Wednesday afternoon with a wind speed of 100-110 kmh gusting to 120 kmh. IMD says it will affect the coastal districts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Gujarat and other neighbouring states.
15 teams of NDRF have been deployed in different districts of Maharashtra in the wake of Cyclone Nisarga. The cyclone is predicted to make landfall on Wednesday afternoon as a severe cyclonic storm with a wind speed of 90 to 105 kilometres per hour (kmph) gusting to 125 kmph.
The NDRF teams have been deployed in Mumbai, Raigad, Palghar. Thane, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Navi Mumbai.
NDRF commander, Ishwar Mate, said, ”NDRF teams have been deployed at places oh high alert. The NDRF teams will help locals to deal with difficulties during cyclones.”
