The news of Dhanush and Aishwarya parting ways was a shock to everyone including the fans. Their joint statement soon after announcing the divorce said ‘18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other.

The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate… Aishwarya and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with it.”

Aishwarya’s sister Soundarya changed her profile picture soon after her sister announced her split with Dhanush. This is widely discussed on the social media. Her new profile pic is a picture of the two with their father Rajanikanth.

She has captioned it as new profile pic. Many have expressed support under the pic. They have commented dad’s girls and that the news of the split pained them.
The couple got married on November 18 in 2004. They have two sons – Yatra and Linga.
