Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the path shown by the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, legacies and the relationship between India and Bangladesh are the strong basis of partnership, progress and prosperity of both the countries.
Addressing 100th Birth Anniversary celebrations of Bangabandhu through video conferencing this evening, Mr Modi said that relations between India and Bangladesh are built on the strong foundations of this shared heritage. He said, today Bangladesh is India’s largest trading partner and also the largest development partner in South Asia.
He said, the electricity produced in India is illuminating millions of homes and factories in Bangladesh and a new Dimension has taken place in our relationships through Friendship Pipeline.
Mr Modi expressed happiness that in the last 5-6 years, India and Bangladesh have further strengthened their mutual relations and gave new direction and dimensions to their partnership. He said, it is growing confidence between the two nations, due to which both have been able to resolve decades-long complex issues related to the land Boundary and Maritime Boundary.
