In a shocking revelation, Public Prosecutor Rajesh Menon alleged that Attappadi MLA N Shamsudheen of Indian Union Muslim League had favored the accused in the sensational Kerala lynching case going scot-free, according to a Janmabhumi report. Madhu, a mentally unstable tribal youth, was brutally lynched on February 22, 2018, allegedly for stealing food by a group of people comprising activists of Muslim League and CPI(M). The accused not only assaulted him but took selfie with the bleeding Madhu.
According to Menon, as a people’s representative Shamsudheen did not lend any support to the family of the victim or the public prosecutor. The MLA did not reach out to the poor family of the victim. As a representative, he did not even raise the issue in the Assembly, Menon said.
Some of the accused were rich and well-connected.
