Higher Education Minister R Bindhu has reiterated her claims on her powers as a pro-chancellor of Kannur university. Rubbishing the allegations, she stated that being the pro-chancellor, she has the powers to recommend a name for the appointment of Kannur University Vice-Chancellor.
Giving an explanation over the row, she added that the chancellor can approve or reject the pro-chancellor’s recommendations.
The minister landed in a controversy after her letter to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan seeking re-appointment of Kannur University Vice-Chancellor Dr Gopinath Raveendran surfaced.
