In Meghalaya, the State Government is going to bear all travel expenses of citizens who are returning by special trains from various parts of the country.
Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong said, “We are going to bear the travel expenses of all the citizens who will be coming by these special trains. We will book the train from the State’s exchequer. Therefore, people who do not have money to pay for the train fares should not worry.”
He informed that the Ministry of Railways has already made an arrangement for citizens of Meghalaya who are stranded at Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Karnataka.
The State Government has also requested the Ministry to arrange special trains for the citizens who are stranded in West Bengal, Maharashtra, Delhi, Kerala, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Goa, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Pondicherry and Jharkhand.
